Who we are..
I qualified as a dentist in 1991 from Karnataka University, India with Honours. Upon completion of my house officer training I was awarded 'best outgoing student of the year' from the college. I joined a three year masters training program (M.D.S.) and completed my dissertation on "Temporomandibular Joint problems in Children" in 1995. In my early clinical career, treated several dental problems in children at hospital environment.
In 1997 I came to the U.K., and joined the Eastman Dental hospital in London as Senior House Officer. I completed my Fellowship examination from Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Since then I have undertaken extensive training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dental Implantology by both serving in the NHS and attending training courses. Presently I work as an Associate Specialist in the department of Maxillofacial Surgery at the East Lancashire NHS Trust, serving Royal Blackburn, Royal Bolton and Burnley General Hospitals.
I won a best paper award for a research work I presented at the annual congress of the British Association of Oral Surgery. The prize included a trip to Gavla County Hospital Sweden to study a course in advanced dental implant surgery. I was very impressed by the life changing benefits, dental implants have on patients. Since then I have focussed my career in improving my knowledge and skills in Implant dentistry. I completed my Diploma in Implant Dentistry qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.
I have given several lectures in the UK and abroad, and have mentored students to MSc level (Salford University) in the speciality of Dental Implantology. I am a member of the ITI and clinical coach for Astratech Implant system from the Dentsply. I intend to involve further in research and practice of bone regeneration in implantology in future.
I am fully registered with the General Dental Council (GDC) UK.
I am an associate specialist in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the Royal Blackburn Hospital. My job includes full range of oral surgery practice including dental implants. Dental implant service is available to patients on NHS on a limited selective criteria. Most of our hospital patients have acute treatment needs including loss of teeth or part of jaw due to trauma or cancer. Some implants are done for congenital missing teeth in complex cases. The decision is based on case by case basis.
If you wish to consider dental implant based treatment as an option, we strongly feel you need to be seen for a consultation and get a personalised treatment plan. This will also give us an opportunity to know each other and develop the doctor patient relationship which we feel is very important. You can consult our surgery reception for further details about a no obligation consultation.
We look forward to the opportunity to meet you and discuss your needs,
Regards

Why you should consider implant treatment ?
They look, feel and function like your natural teeth
Healthy teeth do not need to be ground down to support the dental implants
Anchoring dental implants in the jawbone stimulates bone tissue and gums,
ensuring an attractive, aesthetic result while helping to maintain facial structures.
Dental implants do not require any adhesives to hold the new teeth in place
They eliminate the discomfort and insecurity of loose, ill-fitting dentures
You have a secure, permanent tooth replacement
